Hemp is the low tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) variety of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Under federal law, hemp contains very small amounts of THC. Specifically, the plant must contain less than .3% THC by dry weight. In other words, there is no “getting high” when it comes to ingesting or smoking hemp. Hemp and cannabis are often confused, but it is important to know the difference.
